Alright,  here it goes, my first blog ever!!  I am not much of a writer as I have told Adrienne many, many times, but today as I saw my 5 year old son Jack in a pile crying over his hair today,  I thought to myself,  this is noteworthy.  Doesn’t everyone have a 5 year old BOY who cries over his hair!!

 NO, THEY DO NOT!!!!!

Every morning I dread the moment he looks at his hair in the mirror.  The whining begins immediately.  I can be in a deep sleep or naked in the shower and a whiny demon child will not stop until I fix his hair!  Even when I wet it, brush it, and blow dry it, he is still not satisfied.  He says,” it looks horrible!”

Am I missing something?  It looks the same to me.

There is something crazy going on in his brain which in turn makes me crazy!  Once his hair is finally acceptable I will see him steal a look at himself in every reflective surface he can find.  He will even look at himself in the doorknob!  The doorknob!!  Have I created a monster!!  Little boys are not supposed to care that their hair looks good or that their pants are cuffed just right.  They are supposed to get dirty and play with bugs and frogs.

I was walking him to his class last week and he says to me, “don’t I look awesome?”  I have no words.  Jack, of course, knows how to have a good time.  He loves playing with friends, playing T-ball and getting into trouble with his brother,  he just wants to look good doing it!!
